Environmental and energy management measures have been a top priority for us for many years – from our photovoltaic system to efficient tour planning, we rely on a variety of different measures to set LOXX up to be future-focused.

Photovoltaic system

Solar power at the logistics centre

Since 2008, electricity has been generated by a photovoltaic system installed on the logistics center's 10,000 square meters of roof space.

Rainwater discharge

Renaturation of the Emscher river

LOXX has already contributed to the successful renaturation of the Emscher river with clean rainwater since 2008. The precipitation from the roof and circulation areas is collected, cleaned underground and fed into the river. The Emscher has been considered renatured since the end of 2021.

Energy-saving measures

Energy-efficient property

Our halls have generous skylights and automatic lighting control. Fans on the hall ceilings ensure a pleasant temperature – without major energy expenditure. What's more, the switch to LED lighting significantly reduces power consumption in this area.

Electric charging stations for cars

Refuel with RenewablePLUS-certified green electricity in the parking lot

Four charging stations were built in the carpark in July 2023. These charging stations offer a total of eight charging points and can supply electrically powered cars simultaneously with up to 22 kW. The stations supply green electricity (certified under RenewablePLUS) and are available to both visitors and employees.

Efficiency in the warehouse

Electric industrial trucks

In the warehouse, industrial trucks are gradually being replaced by electric pallet jacks, high-speed pallet jacks, and forklifts. In addition, the new battery-powered equipment is more energy-efficient than the models used previously.
